Claire Hazelgrove MP: speeches

4 Jul 2024–3 Jul 2025

How these years work

Our reporting years run from 4 July to 3 July, starting with the 2024 general election. They are not official parliamentary sessions. Office costs keep IPSA’s April–March financial years. Records may cover only part of a year; a missing record does not mean no work was done.

Speeches

  • 24 Jun 2025 · Care Settings: Right to Maintain Contact · Hansard source
    More

One of my constituents, Tracy, came to speak with me at one of my first surgeries. Her mum, Doreen, was one of the individuals my hon. Friend is talking about; she was in a care home during the covid pandemic and was cut off from a lot of contact, and she suffered as a result. Would my hon. Friend agree that it is important those stories are heard as the next steps on this issue are considered?

  • 15 May 2025 · Recalled Offenders: Sentencing Limits · Hansard source
    More

Like me, many residents across Filton and Bradly Stoke were rightly appalled last summer to discover the real situation left behind by the Conservative party. When it comes to prisons, does the Minister agree that this is an opportunity for the Conservative party to apologise?

  • 24 Mar 2025 · Topical Questions · Hansard source
    More

Those who bravely serve in our forces should never lose their say in our country’s future, so I welcome the Government’s swift action to introduce the ability to use the veterans ID card as voter ID. May I ask the Minister what plans there are to ensure that veterans around the country are aware of this important change?

  • 7 Jan 2025 · Access to Primary Care · Hansard source
    More

When I am out regularly knocking on doors and listening to people across the constituency, one of the issues residents raise with me most frequently is the challenge in even being able to book a GP’s appointment. Could the Secretary of State please set out what his plans are for ending that 8 am phone scramble, including for those who do not use apps and websites as confidently?

  • 5 Nov 2024 · Renters' Rights Bill (Eighth sitting) · Hansard source
    More

I beg to move, That the clause be read a Second time.

  • 22 Oct 2024 · Renters' Rights Bill (First sitting) · Hansard source
    More

I used to work at Shelter, which is giving evidence today.

  • 29 Jul 2024 · Public Spending: Inheritance · Hansard source
    More

May I thank my right hon. Friend for her transparency and openness about the dire state of our inheritance from the Conservatives? The Tory leadership race is now clearly in full swing, which is important. People across the Filton and Bradley Stoke constituency, and across the country, deserve to know why none of the contenders came clean about this black hole when they were in government. Or were they kept in the dark by the Chancellor’s predecessor as well?
