What Parliament records
This category records certain visits outside the UK where all or part of the cost was met by someone other than the MP or UK public funds. It can include the destination, purpose and who funded the trip.
How the 2024/25 figure works
The table adds the inclusive days from each visit's recorded departure date to return date. A visit belongs to the financial year in which it started, even if it ends after 31 March.
179 records have a usable measure for this category. See this year’s top ten →
What the figure leaves out
This is not a record of every journey or every day an MP travelled. A visit paid for by the MP or UK public funds may not be registrable here; overlapping visits can count the same calendar day twice.
Only records available in complete compared register editions are included. Registration does not imply wrongdoing.
